The Sky is Not Falling, America

America is a nation unprecedented in its moral structure. Peoples from all over the world are here living and thriving together. Despite the disgusting demonstration of anti-American ideas from Nazi’s, white nationalists, violent communists, and others, the sky is not falling, and the fabric of our nation is not being pulled apart. So long as our founding principles of free speech, individualism, truth, and liberty are actively promoted, this nation will pull through. That gives those of us who believe in those principles quite the call to action. Right now, a small minority of the population is displaying their racism and violent grabs at power. Clarifying Your Rights (Slavery is not OK)

We hear it almost every day. Healthcare is a right. Access to food is a right. Access to water, shelter, and clothing are all rights. What’s wrong with these assertions is not only that they are false, but also that they create justification for slave labor. That probably sounds dramatic to many people, and frankly, maybe it is, but I’ll take you step by step through why it is wrong for healthcare, food, water, shelter, clothing, and any other item/service to be deemed a “right.” This argument is chiefly about language and philosophy, but the practical significance should not be overlooked; it matters… a lot. Resenting the Declaration

It was on this day 241 years ago that Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence was signed. It’s ideas, influenced heavily by the Enlightenment and English Liberal thinkers, laid the foundation for a new nation. A nation that would quickly become the wealthiest, the freest, and the most comfortable country in the history of the world. It should not be taken for granted that we as humans had to strive to this point. We are, after all, the same humans that lived in caves. This is the future. Things are different.
